The Lumber River Football Club President and Club Director is Coach Brent Martin, the boys/girls varsity coach at St. Pauls High School.
Head Coach Martin has been coaching soccer since 2007, and has spent his entire coaching career helping to build the SPHS Boys and Girls soccer programs from the ground up. Martin has now built a 129-115-10 overall record at the school and has featured in the NCHSAA State Playoffs on multiple occasions with his teams, and has reached the 2nd round twice with wins over Wallace Rose-Hill and James Kenan High School.
Martin played his high school soccer at Lumberton Sr. High School, and spent his college career at UNCW where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. Rediscovering his love for soccer in 2007, Martin returned to the game as a volunteer youth coach. Since then he hasn't been able to let the game go. An avid Liverpool fan, if not the biggest, Martin is totally immersed in the game of soccer. With this Soccer Club he is looking to help build the game in Robeson County to one that will be well respected for many reasons at the state level.
Martin is an active member of the Coaching Community as he is the NC Soccer Coaches Association's 2A Region 6 Regional Chairman, and also a member of both USSF and United Soccer Coaches associations..
Martin in July of 2014 earned his US Soccer National "E" License and also this past summer in Raleigh NC earned his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) "National Diploma". This summer Martin also completed his USSF (US Soccer) "D" License and in January of 2016 completed his NSCAA "Advanced National Diploma" course after receiving the Bill Holleman Fund Scholarship.

Coach Kevin Locklear will be acting as the Director of Classic Soccer for LRFC, and will also be coaching the U17 boys in our club. Kevin has a wide range of experience in soccer in North Carolina, with his emphasis on the classic and tournament side of the game. Kevin has a collection of tournament wins and this experience will be invaluable to the classic side of our program as we look to enter into NCYSA classic level play.
Kevin will be bringing his experience in navigating these waters, as well as his connections to the Pembroke community to our program to help solidify our county under one umbrella.
Kevin has been a great mentor to all the players that he has coached, and we hope that he will continue his great mentorship in our program as we continue to grow the game in greater Robeson County.

Saul Lopez is a graduate of Red Springs High School, another local prodigy that was brought into the program by Coach Will Garcia. Saul played on our original "Elite Academy" team that was formed in 2008, long before we incorporated into LRFC. He has a great playing career as a striker, and has been taking on more of a leadership role in the soccer community here in Red Springs and in St. Pauls. We are extremely proud to have him as part of our program and look forward to his continuing growth as the Head Coach of the Girls Varsity soccer program at St. Pauls High.
Saul is also our Head Registrar for the program, and works with registering all children in our recreation platform. We again, are thankful to have Saul as a part of our program and are excited about fostering his growth as a coach, and as a leader within the soccer community.

Coach Layla has a vast amount of experience she will bring to our girls programs.
Graduated from Purnell Swett High School in 2020 … won three letters in soccer while playing for head coach Alaric Strickland … received All-Conference honors on three occasions (2017, 2018, 2019) … named All-Region in 2019 … named Most Improved Player in 2017 … recognized as Best Offense in 2018 … participated in club soccer … competed for PSA under the direction of head coach Ryan Sampson … also played for Liberty Point Soccer Club for coach Seth Harrison.
During her first year at Salem College, she played in all 18 matches for Salem in 2021, earning 10 starts along the way … netted two goals, two assists and six points … finished with 11 shots, including six shots on goal (.545 shot on goal percentage) … scored one goal on a penalty kick for the Spirits … netted one goal and handed out an assist, resulting in three points, in her collegiate debut against Warren Wilson (Sept. 1), scoring on a penalty kick … dished out an assist while attempting two shots against Agnes Scott (Sept. 4) … made her first collegiate start at Sweet Briar (Sept. 12), finishing with one shot … had the first of eight consecutive starts at Methodist (Sept. 25) … had two shots in matches against Averett (Oct. 2) and Mary Baldwin (Oct. 12) … netted her second goal of the season at Southern Virginia (Oct. 20), making one shot over the course of the match.
In her final year as a senior, Layla played in 15 games during the campaign, making 15 starts along the way … opened the season with an assist, while attempting five shots (one shot on goal) in a clash with Hollins (Sept. 1) … dished out an assist in a 3-2 victory at St. Andrews (Sept. 6) … emerged with an assist as the Spirits finished in a 1-1 tie with Agnes Scott (Sept. 15) … responsible for one shot for Salem against Methodist (Sept. 30) … ended a clash with William Peace (Oct. 14) with her fourth assist of the season, coming through with one shot in the process … had her fifth and final assist of the season on Senior Day, which took place against Greensboro (Oct. 28).

Coach Glotzbach has been a member of the soccer scene for a while in Robeson County, and has led the U14B and U12B of PSA to very successful seasons.
Brian is now coaching our U14B team and has earned promotion to the 2nd Division in his first year with 2 great seasons this Fall and Spring.
Glotzbach will be taking over the U15B coaching role in 2025-2026 as he and his U14B move up into the 2nd division. A great role model for all young men in the game, and an even better leader, we are proud to have Glotzbach as a member of the coaching family at LRFC.
Glotzbach will also be attending his USSF D License course this Fall and will be taking referee courses as well to continue his education in the game as a coach. We are very proud to help facilitate this personal growth for him, and he should be an example to others that you're never too old to learn and grow in the game.
